The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek requires the moderate level of fitness and is a short trek in Annapurna Region in Nepal.   • Day 01 :Drive to Pokhara stay overnight at Pokhara

    On the first day of Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, you will drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. This drive will be around 6 hours by bus. Alternately, you can take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The flight takes about 25 minutes. Hence, at Pokhara, you will roam around tourism hub Lakeside. Eventually, you’ll stay overnight at the Hotel at Pokhara.

  • Day 02 :Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga

    On this day, you’ll drive to Nayapul from Pokhara. It would be 2.5 hours drive by Jeep. Then you’ll have your lunch at Nayapul and start your trek to Tikhedhunga. You’ll walk along the Modi Khola and start the ascend. It usually takes 4 hours of trek to reach Tikhedhunga, and sometimes the trek can get longer when you stop around for photographs.

  • Day 03 :Trek to Ghorepani from Tikhedhunga

    Today, on your Ghorepani Poon Hill trek you’ll trek to Ghorepani from Tikhedhunga. It would be around 6 hours trek. The trek distance will be about 13 Kilometers and this part of the trek is the toughest part of Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. Likewise, you’ll have to climb over 3500 steep stairs uphill during your trek. You’ll stay overnight in Hotel in Ghorepani.

  • Day 04 :Early morning sunrise view from Poonhill and trek to Tadapani via Ghorepani

    Early in the morning, around 4 am You’ll wake up and after a quick breakfast, you’ll start your trek to your destination Poon Hill at the elevation of 3210 meters. Before entering the photographer’s paradise, you’ll have to get the tickets and continue your hike. Finally, from the top, you’ll observe the rewarding Sunrise view and an amazing Himalayan panorama of Mountains in Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. Don’t miss out to take photographs. Spending some time in Poon Hill you’ll descend back to Ghorepani. Later, after some rest, you’ll fuel up and start trekking to Tadapani. En route, you’ll cross Deurali and Rhododendron forest. Finally, you’ll stay overnight at guest-house in Tadapani.

  • Day 05 :Trek from Tandapani to Ghandruk

    Following the steep trail downhill through rhododendron forest, Bhaisi kharka en route and following right-hand route through steep, crossing the stream that leads to the ridge, you’ll find your way to Ghandruk. As a matter of fact, Ghandruk is the second largest Gurung village in Nepal. You can visit the cultural museum in Ghandruk and try Nepalese traditional Gurung dresses. You’ll stay overnight at Guest-house in Ghandruk.

  • Day 06 :Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara

    After having your lunch, you’ll start your trek down to Birethati. During this trek, you’ll descend down through the rhododendron forests, terraced fields and alongside, the Modi Khola will be following with you. Finally, after getting to Nayapul you’ll drive back to Pokhara. If you have enough time in Pokhara, you can roam around the city. Finally, you’ll stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

  • Day 07 :Drive to Pokhara to Kathmandu

    Today after lunch, you’ll drive back to Pokhara. On the way, you can explore the beautiful Bandipur village. The scenic drive through Prithivi Highway would take you around 6-7 hours to reach Kathmandu. Finally, you’ll stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Permits

1. TIMS Permits

According to the ongoing MoU marked by NTB(Nepal Tourism Board) and TAAN(Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal), TIMS card is relevant in all trekking zones including restricted regions. A group of trekkers should pay TIMS (Blue) cards by paying a charge of Rs 1,000 for each one of the trekkers, while FITs need to get TIMS(Green) cards by paying an expense of Rs 2,000. Likewise, group trekkers from SAARC nations need to pay Rs 300 for TIMS cards, while FITs from the SAARC area need to pay Rs 600 each.

2. ACAP Permit

Since Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek covers the Annapurna Conservation Area so traveler should have the ACAP permits.
