The Langtang Valley is a beautiful and short trek that comprises a lot of scenic walks, diverse flora and fauna and delve into Tibetan culture in a small time. If you are a first-time trekker, then Langtang Valley Trek is a perfect trip for you. Langtang Trek takes you from Syabrubesi (1470m) and ascends you up to hit 4783m at Kyanjin Ri( amazing stop for panoramic mountain views, and famous for sunshine). Just imagine, the red sun rising up above the hills and striking snow-capped white mountains to turn golden. Trust me, you will fill your memory card capturing the eye-stretching views.

Langtang is for those who want to trek in off the beaten track this is a perfect trek. The trail takes you through lush forests and bamboo to the monastery of Kyanjin Gompa, countryside views, blooming rhododendrons.

As a whole, Langtang is kind of a moderate trek. Anyone can complete this trek. You need TIMS Card and Langtang National Park Entry Permit to go to Langtang. The best time for exploring here is in the seasons of Autumn and Spring. And you can find the number of teahouses for rest and food.

Langtang Valley Trek Challenges

Langtang Valley is a quite moderate kind of trekking. We walk through ups and downs. So, it’s good to have proper physical fitness. Langtang is a remote trek. However, there are enough tea houses for food and accommodation. Altitudes, Weather Conditions and Physical Fitness may challenge you during the trek.

In Langtang Trek, we generally troll around 3000m to 5000m(Kyanjin Ri). Despite having vegetation, there is a chance of suffering from Altitude Sickness. The major symptoms of Altitude Sickness are nausea, vomiting and difficult to breathe. The better way to climb is by walking slowly, having enough carbs and water.

Weather Conditions

Trekking in the off-seasons like Summer or Monsoon is very challenging above 4000m. But trekkers with the proper experience can make it with proper trekking gears. Trekking in Autumn and Spring won’t have any weather challenge. But trekking in altitudes is quite challenging. Hence, having a guide is a compulsion. He can assist in case of an emergency as well.

Physical Fitness

As we hike through ups and downs, being physically well is a key to complete the trek with ease. We recommend you to do some physical exercises and warm-ups prior to the trek. This prepares you for the Langtang Trek. You should not do extra training like trekking in Manaslu or Everest.

Food and Accommodation

Despite being remote trek, you can find several Tea Houses along the trail for accommodation. You can also have good food there. Generally, rooms are shared with shared bathroom. You may or may not get hot showers (depending upon teahouses). The availability of wifi also depends. However, in Kathmandu, you can find private rooms with attached bathrooms. The food at Langtang Trek is quite traditional. You can have typical Nepali food Dal, Bhat, Tarkari, bread, eggs or omelettes. The prices of food and accommodation rise as we climb up. Before bargaining the price please remember they are there (at high altitudes) just to serve you by carrying food along the trail where there is no transport.

Langtang is an amazing place to trek. It’s quite easy to trek in Langtang. So, trekking in any months can give you a lifelong memory. However, trekking in Autumn(September, October, November) and Spring(March, April, May) seasons has its own flavour. You can extract all things of Langtang during these months. The temperature remains moderate and the sky remains clearer and what do you wait to trek.

However, trekking in the month of December is also quite good. There won’t be high traffic. But views are uncertain depending upon the cloud.
